Toronto Holds On, Defeat Cleveland Away From Home
The Toronto Raptors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers, 115-109, at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on Thursday evening.

The Raptors (34-14) and the Cavaliers (13-36) played a tight game and while many expected Toronto to dominate since they entered this matchup on an eight-game winning streak, they had to work harder than expected to get past a tough-as-nails Cleveland team. It seemed Toronto would cruise their way after jumping to a five-point lead after the first quarter, but Cleveland shortened the gap at the half-time break following a 26-25 second quarter. The Raptors extended their lead after a 32-24 third quarter and many believe the game was over with 12 minutes left on the clock. Cleveland worked hard in the final minutes and won the final quarter by a 33-27 score, but that wasn't enough and the Raptors sealed the win. Toronto shot 48.8 percent from the field and moved to 17-7 on the road, while the Cavaliers fell to 6-19 at home. Cleveland shot only 36.1 percent from deep in this game.

Serge Ibaka came out of nowhere for the Raptors and led the team offensively with 26 points while shooting 10-14 from the field. Pascal Siakam added 19 points but also filled the stat sheet with five rebounds, four steals and two assists. Kyle Lowry had 23 points with five rebounds, five assists and four steals. Fred VanVleet only scored eight points, but he added seven rebounds and 12 dimes. Norman Powell contributed 16 points off the bench.

Kevin Love and Collin Sexton each led the Cavaliers with 23 points -- while Love also added five rebounds and four assists, Sexton also chipped in with four rebounds and four dimes. Tristan Thompson grabbed 12 boards, but he only scored two points. Darius Garland chipped in with 16 points, eight assists and five rebounds. Larry Nance Jr. and Kevin Porter Jr. each added 13 points off the bench.
