Young Leads Hawks With 39 points
The Atlanta Hawks defeated the visiting Philadelphia 76ers, 127-117, at State Farm Arena on Thursday evening.

Trae Young was on fire to start the game and racked up 29 points and 11 assists by halftime, to help give the Hawks a 74-67 lead at the break. Young cooled down in the third, but the 76ers could not cut the deficit, as they trailed by seven heading into the final frame. Young and the Hawks came out strong in the fourth and outscored the visitors by three points in the quarter, to seal their third straight home win. Young finished the contest with 39 points, 18 assists, six rebounds and two steals.

The Hawks shot 48 percent from the field, including 11-of-35 from long range. They tallied 29 assists on 42 field goals, but they gave up 16 turnovers in the contest. John Collins had a big night, with 17 points and 20 rebounds, in 34 minutes. De'Andre Hunter finished with 15 points, four assists and two rebounds.

Meanwhile, Ben Simmons led the 76ers with 31 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals, in 42 minutes. Joel Embiid totaled 21 points, 14 rebounds, three assists and a block, while Shake Milton finished with 27 points, six assists, five rebounds and one steal. The 76ers shot 46 percent from the field, including 9-of-31 from long range.

The 76ers (31-18) will look to bounce back as they take on the Celtics in Boston on Saturday. The Hawks (13-36) take on the Mavs in Dallas on Saturday.
