Heat Defeat Knicks, 129-114
The Miami Heat defeated the visiting New York Knicks, 129-114, at American Airlines Arena on Friday.

A 39-20 first quarter really set the tone in this game, with Miami winning in dominating fashion. In fact, the Heat led by at least 15 points for the final three quarters, leading by 34 at times in this lopsided result. Miami ended up shooting 56 percent from the field and 47 percent from three-point range. In addition, the Heat out-rebounded the Knicks, 51-41, while out-assisting them, 34-23.

The Knicks (7-22) starters were led by Marcus Morris, who amassed 15 points and three rebounds. Julius Randle generated 13 points and eight rebounds. R.J. Barrett went just 1-of-10 from the field to accrue two points, two rebounds and no assists in 20 minutes. Bobby Portis led the bench with 30 points, eight rebounds and three steals.

The Heat (21-8) were led by Bam Adebayo, who tallied 20 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Jimmy Butler took just three shots but accrued nine points, five rebounds, eight assists and three steals. Duncan Robinson provided 18 points and three assists while Kendrick Nunn totaled 15 points, two rebounds and three assists. Goran Dragic led the bench with 18 points and eight assists. Kelly Olynyk had a double-double off the bench as well.

Things don't get any easier for New York, facing the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday. As for Miami, they play host to the Utah Jazz on Monday for their next fixture.
