Mavs Hand Sixers Second Consecutive Home Loss
The Dallas Mavericks defeated the host Philadelphia 76ers, 117-98, at Wells Fargo Center on Friday evening.

After starting the season 14-0 at home, the 76ers fell for their second consecutive home loss. The 76ers jumped out to an 11-5 lead early on, but the Mavericks rallied to take a 35-28 lead by the end of the first quarter. The Sixers closed in to start the second, but the Mavs pulled back ahead and took a six-point lead into halftime. Again the 76ers bought it back to a one-possession game early in the third, but the Mavs charged ahead and expanded their lead to 11 points, heading into the final frame. The Mavs held a double-digit lead through most of the fourth quarter, as they held on for the impressive road win. This marks the seventh straight road win for the Mavs, as they move to 11-2 on the road.

Tim Hardaway Jr. led the Mavs with 27 points on 10-of-21 shooing, in 32 minutes. Kristaps Porzingis finished with 22 points, 18 rebounds, four blocks and a steal, while Seth Curry, Jalen Brunson and Dorian Finney-Smith chipped in 11 points each. The Mavs shot 52 percent from the field, including 14-of-33 from long range.

Meanwhile, Joel Embiid led the 76ers with 33 points, 17 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block, in 33 minutes. Ben Simmons added 12 points, eight assists and six rebounds, while Josh Richardson chipped in 10 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Tobias Harris had a tough night, as he finished with seven points on 3-of-11 shooting.

The 76ers (20-10) will look to avoid a third consecutive loss, as they play host to the Wizards on Saturday. The Mavericks (19-9) take on the Raptors in Toronto on Sunday.
