Pelicans Defeat T'Wolves, 107-99
The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the host Minnesota Timberwolves, 107-99, at Target Center on Wednesday.

A 32-25 first quarter really set the tone in this game for the Pelicans, with a 31-25 second quarter putting the game to bed. In fact, New Orleans led by at least eight points for the entirety of the second half. Rebounding was a huge factor, with the Pelicans out-rebounding the Timberwolves, 55-43. In addition, New Orleans shot 44 percent from the field and 43 percent from three-point range while holding Minnesota to 38 percent from the field and 26 percent from long range.

The Pelicans (7-22) were led by Brandon Ingram, who collected 34 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. Jrue Holiday accrued 18 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals. Derrick Favors totaled six points and 11 rebounds while Josh Hart led the bench with 11 points, six rebounds and two assists. Lonzo Ball accumulated 10 points, six rebounds and six assists off the pine as well.

The Timberwolves (10-16) had to play this game without Karl-Anthony Towns, as Andrew Wiggins led the way with 27 points and seven rebounds. Gorgui Dieng started for Towns and amassed 13 points and eight rebounds. Jeff Teague went just 1-of-8 from the field to finish with five points and nine assists. Robert Covington led the bench with 15 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

Both teams return to action on Friday, with New Orleans traveling to face the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota facing the Denver Nuggets on the road as well.
