Celtics Get Past Mavericks, 109-103
The Boston Celtics take on the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center on Wednesday night.

The Mavericks (18-9) had already notched one impressive victory over an elite Eastern Conference opponent in the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night, and they got off to a good start in their quest for a second one by jumping out to a 55-50 halftime lead over the Celtics (18-7). However, the tide of the game changed in the third quarter, when Boston outscored Dallas by a 26-18 margin with strong play on both ends of the floor. The visitors ultimately made their advantage hold up, with a 12-7 run over the first 5:22 of the final period helping them to establish a solid cushion. Ryan Broekhoff helped the Mavs get as close as 107-103 with 20.3 seconds remaining with a pair of free throws, but Jaylen Brown sunk a pair of his own to seal the win.

Kemba Walker paced the Celtics with 32 points, adding five rebounds, three assists and one block. Brown finished with 26 points, nine boards, one block and one steal. Jayson Tatum delivered 24 points, eight rebounds, one assist and one block.

Kristaps Porzingis led the Mavericks with a 23-point, 13-rebound double-double that also included two assists, three blocks and one steal. Seth Curry poured in 20 points and also offered four rebounds and two assists. Tim Hardaway managed 13 points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal. Jalen Bruson delivered a 10-point, 11-assist double-double that also included seven rebounds.

The Celtics will head back home and face the Detroit Pistons on Friday night, while the Mavericks pay a visit to the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night as well.
